thanks to everyone who has placed an order for my blocks in the design*sponge shop! i sold out of the first set and have started on a second batch (which is already half way sold out)– so if you would like to place an order, do it soon! the blocks have sold better than i expected, so that’s been encouraging me to experiment with new products. thanks everyone for the wonderful feedback.

i had a dentist appointment today… yuck. but the upside of going to the dentist is that it’s right around the corner from kinokuniya. i always treat myself to some books and magazines after… i finally bought lotta’s travel book. it’s really sweet. it made me want to go to scandinavia even more (if that’s possible). also got some great fabric/craft books. top two photos from from a japanese book whose title i can read (ISBN4-309-28053-6), and bottom two from lotta jansdotter’s travel style.

vintage fabric from the states, is one of the new books in stock at rare device. rena gave me a copy, and i love it. thank you, thank you rena!

michelle weinberg is a fine artist with a new line of limited edition (only three per design) hand-knotted rugs. i love how graphic they are. each rug is derived from original artwork created by michelle in collage or paint media. for information about purchasing, you can email michelle via her website and recieve a pdf catalog of all the rug designs.

after reading a comment about a shop called lake, from my post on tamar mogendorff, i saw this photo taken by liza corbett, and then found the website of lauri faggioni. i loved seeing photos of lauri’s hand stitched animals, and they do look similar to tamar’s. both look like so much care and attention is put into each doll. it reminds me of my favorite book: goldie the doll maker. thanks liza!

(were is lake? is it still there?)
