i found juliet gorman’s work before i met her. josh and i came across a pile of pottery on the street a couple years ago and i love all of it and excitedly took it home. for a year or so i wondered about “JG”, the name signed on the bottom of each piece. and then juliet and i finally met in a class and i figured out that she was the ceramicist whose work i’d been admiring. since then we’ve become friends and i stopped by her apartment yesterday to see the new beads she has been working on. they are beautiful!. juliet is also a great decorator and i love her home. she has a fantastic collection of textiles and art. she will be selling her ceramic necklaces at the renegade craft fair on june 11th + 12th.

  1. Lovely beads! give me the feeling that I want to hold one of them in my hand.

  2. I love the striped bead interspersed with the solids. Such pretty colors, all together!

  3. oh wow, that is my idea of bead heaven! it's a goal of mine to learn how to make ceramic beads someday.

  4. Now I'm curious — why was her pottery in the street?!

Beautiful work (and beautiful couch cushions!)…

  5. katie,
they were early, experimental pieces of hers that she didn't want to keep. i'm not sure if this is true of other cities, but in new york it is common to put things on the street that neighbors may be interested in taking.

  6. ey ey ey I saw this same basins in a beach, you know one of those craftsman that made collars and bracelet, is so cool!!!
