francesca tallone has a newly updated site!

it’s rare for me to see a newly constructed apartment building that i like… but oh wow, i love the new flowerbox building in the east village. i saw it about a month ago and was really enamored by it. the flower boxes will be changed twice a year for the seasons, and were created by verdant garden designs (check out their website for more beautiful city-garden photos).

thanks kathleen for posting about this beautiful new calendar at little otsu. little otsu is one of the best online shops for gifts. maybe i’ll start a list here of my favorite online shops for holiday presents.

also, amanda barr, a favorite artist of mine, is having a show at motel gallery, called case of the wolves (photo above). wish i could see it.

hee hee, i like these glow-in-the-dark clay magnets from NuitBlanche via armas design… they made me laugh. they would made a good gift (so would the great cards and pouches).

i’ve started buying holiday presents in the past month. while i can’t commit to buying 100% handmade, most of my presents usually are. so i think i can pledge to about 90% handmade!

it’s great news that now there is a fine little day etsy shop…
