a painting in the –mmm, so delicious– korean restaurant where i had lunch today…

teen vogue is always inspiring… they have 3 superb illustrator profiles this month (which lead me to the heal’s website for the mugs from my previous post) first: daisy de villeneuve– who’s work i’ve admired for years… and i adore her website! secondly: milano chow, a young artist who is attending barnard, and is new to me.. i think her t-shirts are great… and thirdly: anne morris, who’s work i’ve also enjoyed for a while, and think is just wonderful… the image above is from daisy de villeneuve’s site.

i loved these limited edition mugs when i saw them in elle decoration a while ago- i think the color paletteis great. from top left going clockwise: daisy de villenueve, clements ribeiro, gary hume, & alexander mcqueen. oh, i really want to order a few…

my favorite painters have always been ones that use imagery of prints and pattern (not surprising!)– here are two that i love.

bottom: benny and mary ellen andrews by alice neel

a closer view of the plate i liked best

(not a very good photo- it was so dark in there)
