we loved berlin….
we bundled up and explored the city in record breaking cold. we stayed at casa camper in mitte– a cozy home base in an ideal location. some favorites near our hotel were mulackstr shops, do you read me?! book store, the barn cafe, and mogg & melzer delicatessen. the subway system is fast and easy to navigate… and i loved that you can drink a beer and bring your dog on the train (so civilized). even in the extreme cold the city felt so full of energy… very much like new york. more photos soon.
we leave for berlin this afternoon! thanks for all the great tips and suggestions. the forecast looks absolutely freezing (smart thinking joanna) but we’re excited to spend a lot of time in museums, galleries, cozy restaurants, indoor markets, and friends’ apartments. map photo from this elle decor story.

i met with samara of muny yesterday to talk about a possible collaboration. i asked her to save one of these dresses for me. i can’t wait to wear it during the summer heat.

josh and i are going to berlin for a vacation at the end of march! we have a few friends there and it’s a short trip, so my plan is to not plan a lot. i have some articles printed out from the NY times and the design*sponge berlin guide. and our friends will recommend places to go and eat. but if anyone has a suggestion for us– please leave a comment! it’s our first trip without eli, so we don’t need kid-related tips. my favorite kind of vacation is exploring a city… can’t wait.
