I recently tried over-dyeing in my front loading washer for the first time. I wanted to dye a white quilt that had gotten discolored and stained and i was inspired by the beautiful over-dyed ticking fabric in the restoration hardware catalog. dyeing in a front loader doesn’t work as well as a top loader since the fabric doesn’t soak in the same way, but I was really happy with the muted results. you can’t tell very well in this photo– but the color came out khaki with a blue tone.

I was disappointed (and a little confused) to read today that Instagram will soon own all of its users content, and while I’m not sure yet if I’ll stop using Instagram, I thought I’d give the WordPress app a try and do a test post by uploading a phone pic here instead of Instagram.
