we are still getting tomatoes, peppers, and oregano in the garden.
is anyone else having trouble with the new blogger format and larger photos?

i bought this necklace from alyson fox and i LOVE it. it’s made with all vintage beads– the rectangle ones are vintage japanese beads from the 30’s and the brass and turquoise ones are from the 60’s. more of her necklaces are here at totokaelo.

i was happy to recently receive two new books by julia rothman. the first is drawn in, based on the sketchbook series from her blog book by its cover, and the second is farm anatomy, curious parts & pieces of country life. drawn in features artwork by many of my favorite artists/illustrators, including vanessa davis, camilla engman, and mike perry. farm anatomy, filled with julia’s illustrations on every page, covers all aspect of rural farm living. congrats, julia!

cathy of california was one of the first blogs i started reading. she has a really good eye for vintage and vintage-inspired textiles, crafts, and art. she recently published a great how-to book, vintage craft workshop. the book is a fresh take on twenty-four classic projects from the 60s and 70s. my favorite projects are the crochet mobile by laura normandin and string stationery by meg mateo ilasco (shown above).
