new classes!

each month cal patch comes to the city from her farm in upstate new york and teaches a saturday workshop in my studio. here’s the schedule for october & november:

*

Open Level

Cal Patch will be teaching a project from her book Design-It-Yourself Clothes: Patternmaking Simplified. We will learn different stretch stitches that most home sewing machines have, and how to use them to make a knit top. Various neckline and hemming options will be taught, and we will experiment with different kinds of knit fabric.

One 5-hour workshop
Saturday Oct 9th
vegetarian lunch included!

*

Advanced Beginner

November’s class is sewing a top, following the Built By Wendy pattern 4111. We’ve been wanting to offer this pattern in a class for a while! Basic sewing knowledge is required, but this is a great class to take if you’ve never followed a pattern before. Students must arrive at class with pieces already cut out and marked, as this can take up to 2 hours and it will be otherwise impossible to finish the project in the allotted time. You will have a completed top by the end of class!

One 5-hour workshop
Saturday Nov 20th
vegetarian lunch included!

i think i could stare at the gorgeous fog linen catalog for hours… there is something so special about the products, styling, and design. i just placed an order for a couple of things. i highly recommend the linen sheets- i’ve had the pillowcases on my bed for months and i love them. they wash so nicely.

i’m bummed i missed this!
