hee hee, i like these glow-in-the-dark clay magnets from NuitBlanche via armas design… they made me laugh. they would made a good gift (so would the great cards and pouches).

i’ve started buying holiday presents in the past month. while i can’t commit to buying 100% handmade, most of my presents usually are. so i think i can pledge to about 90% handmade!

a few weeks ago k.c.k. posted about these simple, beautiful wooden blocks, & i fell in love with them. a carpenter friend of ours so sweetly agreed to make some for me. i had so much fun painting them, and then playing with them! i gave one set to a friend’s one year old son, and still have more to give for gifts…

a few photos from this weekend…

we walked around my favorite part of williamsburg, brooklyn– the south end near moon river chattel, sodafine, and sprout home. that area is a strange mix of quaint and beautiful, but also dirty and industrial/urban. i guess that’s how much of brooklyn (and new york) is.
