one of my favorite brooklyn artists, lindsay adelman, has new pieces up on her website. they’re incredibly detailed drawings of seaweed– so beautiful. unlike most of her work, these are for sale directly from the artist. owning something of lindsay’s is on my wish list for some day…

i’d like to see tara donovan’s exhibition rubber band drawings at the pace wildenstein gallery. they remind me of the compulsive drawing exhibit i saw at moma last winter. i didn’t take note of the artists in that exhibit, so possibly tara donovan had drawings in that exhibit too?
i saw one of kristen hassenfeld’s paper sculptures at ps 1 last year, and was totally enthralled by it. i found more photos of her work while browsing the bellwether gallery website, and i love all of her faceted sculptures, i think they’re incredible!
my dear friend sherise gave me some birthday presents yesterday…. one of which was this great book fashion market II, interviews with 13 artists/designers from the fashion market, by yi-ying wang. it profiles various independent designers– shows their work (house wares, jewelry, fashion) and their studio spaces. i love it. thanks sherise!

speaking of jewelry, i might have found my favorite jewelry store yesterday: ten thousand things on west 14th street. unfortuntely they don’t have a website…
i found ben loiz’s website a while ago, i can’t remember exactly how… by clicking around from link to link probably. i love his work & enjoyed seeing some of his new projects, recently updated on his site. top photo is a patterned wall mural for Nike, made from soccer ball prints (scroll all the way to the right on his website for a video of the project). bottom photo is a tee shirt for kayon r.o.a. and he has an sweet online shop neenoon with his wife renee loiz.
i really really like the colors and textures in this photo by raul gutierrez. plus i just love the old clocks and how they’re arranged on the wall.
