boo hoo….
after this post, i finally bought the beautiful virginia johnson scarf. a friend helped me find it on sale at bebe babble. it was taking a while to arrive, so i looked up my confirmation and tracking numbers. the fed ex website says that it was delivered 2 weeks ago– “left on doorstep. no signature required”. so sad… it must have been stolen. i called bebe babble and they’re filling a claim with fed ex, but it doesn’t look good…

  1. I’m so sorry to hear this. I really hope something can come out of their claim. Good luck.

  2. oh poo. i’m so sorry. i didn’t think fed ex was allowed to leave stuff w/out a signature..i hope it turns out well in the end…

  3. well, they should send you another one! their claim with their chosen shipper is really not your concern, they have your cash already! i hope you find resolution soon.

  4. oh no ! i hope you get a new one. fedex people never at least knock to let you know your package has arrived. :((

  5. oh no, i am sooo sorry to hear about this. i was wondering whether it had arrived yet.

over christmas several packages were stolen from our building. i hate when they leave it on the doorstep. that’s so terrible, lena, i hope bebe babble can help you out with this!

  6. that happened to me recently. UPS said “left on doorstep. floor 2.” odd that it was delivered to floor 2, since there’s only one floor to my building. after a few minutes of being angry and upset, i realized the building next door has 3 floors. i found it on floor 3, not 2! i felt creepy taking my package from someone else’s doorstep.

  7. oh no!! that happened to me once. I was sending wedding invitations that I’d designed to a friend of mine, and the UPS guy left it on her door step. someone stole them!! can you imagine their surprise when they found out it was only paper invites that was no use to them?

at any rate, this totally sucks. I’m sorry about it! I hope the claim helps! 🙂

  8. thats rubbish!! same thing happened to me with a mociun dress through beklina..
you should be able to get store credit for the full value….hope it works out in the end…

  9. Oh NO! Arg, this is so frustrating! That happened to me once with Third Drawer Down, I never got it and it was gone forever, and it was a larger order, it stings. I hope that some good karma comes your way soon 🙂

  10. hi everyone….thanks for the nice notes… so far they haven’t offered my money back or store credit, but we have yet to resolve it, so i’m hoping they do. i’ve replaced several lost packages myself, from people who have placed orders in my shop, it just seems like the fair thing….

  11. awww…i hate when that type of thing happens. it happened to me recently and really irks me and gets me frustrated.
    xoxo,

  12. Uggh… that’s the worst. I hate delivery malfunctions. Hope you get your Virginia Johnson in the end…

  13. aaarrrggh! what is WRONG with fed ex? they did that all the time in my shady neighborhood of brooklyn– left packages outside on doorsteps where anyone could grab them! the post office did it too, though they would leave them inside the building but our door never locked very securely. only UPS seemed to not leave packages without a signature. the bummer is, it’s not the seller’s fault, but they are the ones left responsible. as a seller of one-of-a-kind items, this is my worst nightmare since i couldn’t even send a ‘replacement’ because i don’t have one! good luck to you…

  14. OH NO! This JUST happened to me in North Park Slope. It was our wedding album:( It’s been two years since we were married and we finally chose all our photos… and FedEx left it:( I don’t know about you, but the FedEx around here is very unreliable. I’m strictly a UPS user now. I hope they do the responsible thing and send you a new one.

  15. hi liz,
    oh! that’s awful!
i’m very sad about the scarf, but a wedding album is even worse. i like usps best, because they open our front door and put the package safely inside our entryway.

  16. That’s the worst! This has happened to me a few times and finally I filed a claim with my credit card company. It took a little while to go back and forth, but not much of a headache and in the end they did refund my money for the stolen shoes.

  17. Hi Lena. This is quite a bit after your post but I thought I would offer what I know since my former company used FedEx exclusively and had to frequently file claims for lost items. The company you purchased the scarf from will file with FedEx and they will get a refund. It’s only right that they refund you your money. If they do not do it, the easiest way is to file a claim with your credit card company. Items “not received” will almost always get refunded to you. I know because I use to manage the fraud dept. and dealt extensively with CC companies. Hope everything works out!

  18. thanks everyone for the nice comments.
michele, i paid with paypal. i wish i had paid with a cc, i think it would have been easier. and the seller chose to not have a signature required. so i’m doubtful that fed ex will refund. what do you think? i requested a refund via paypal, and the seller denied it. now paypal is going over our claim and will make a decision.
