i bought this fabric bound 5 year diary by shopsin’s general store from rare device… each page is one day, with 5 rows for each year, so an entry for jan 10th ’09 will go below today’s entry. i’m planning to use it as a day planner rather than a diary, but i think it will be fun to look back and see what i was doing a year ago to the day, two years to the day, etc…

  1. I’ve been doing a “line a day” since… brace yourself…1989 all in a single bound journal. The first year is hardest and then it becomes second nature. Mine had a whole page for each day, so I have about 10 years to go in this book. It is amazing to look back and see what I noted at the time and what I didn’t!!

  2. wow jordi, that’s really cool.
i have no idea what i was doing today in 1989… hmmm i wonder…

  3. I love that idea, I haven’t bought a planner yet this year. My grandma has been keeping a diary for 20 years and I like to read them now and then.

  4. wow, this is wht i’ve been looking for! but i tend to draw more than write! maybe it will be a 5 years sketch book?!

  5. I have something similar to this but it’s a 10 year. I’m just starting my 4th year writing in it and it’s so great to look back and see what I’ve done on that day in the past. Also, I’ve recorded the weather each day as well.

  6. that is a brilliant idea! right now, i write down what i do each day, but all my planners are separate. it would be so cool to compare.

  7. Thats such a nice idea and it looks wonderful as well, i like the neutral color and texture

  8. wow — not only is that journal awesome, shopsin’s website is too cool! what a beautiful gift that diary will make for my husband. thanks for the heads up!

on a side note, i love your blog! i’ve been blog-stalking you for a while now (hopefully that doesn’t instantly put me in the creep category), but i thought it was time to let you know you’re being “followed” by one more fan.

  9. elly,
ha! thanks for say hello! i have been flickr-stalking you for a while now, so the feeling is mutual!

isn’t the shopsin’s site cool? the creativity of the products is really inspiring.

  10. This is soooo cool. Then I wouldn’t have to save all my old day planners…I always keep them for a year or 2.

  11. whoa, i’m flattered! i love flickr stalkers… as long as they’re not fifty year old creepy men. but you lena, you are welcome to stalk all you like.

your port2port winter prints are beatiful by the way!
