if i were anywhere near denver, colorado i would be marking my calendar for march 17th, when the denyse schmidt show at p design gallery is debuting. i’ve been a big fan of denyse’s since taking her quilting class (that’s me in the photo on the bottom right!) at make workshop years ago, and im so inspired by her work. these one of a kind quilts in particular have a gorgeous mixing of patterns, that i love.
i have a weakness for well designed quilts and those are so amazing.
I bought an address book with her quilts featured in it, and fell in love with her work. She’s fabulous. How lucky you were to take her class!

shari– oh what a bummer! that happens to me all the time in San Francisco. when i was home for christmas last, Ruth Asawa taught a workshop at the De Young museum a few days after i left : (

Wow — those quilts are lovely. I kept finding myself getting closer and closer to the computer screen trying to get closer to them. I can only imagine that seeing them in real life is a great treat.
