i received a really gorgeous book yesterday called crafting a modern world, the architecture and design of antonin and noemi raymond, edited by kurt g.f. helfrich and william whitaker. the book showcases the beautiful work of the raymonds, an architecture design duo, who were also prolific in furniture, textile, and graphic design. some of my favorite photos are of the mid-century modern log cabins– such a cool combination of styles. the raymonds designed homes, factories, office buildings, churches, and schools from 1917 to 1966, and collaborated with frank lloyd wright, isamu noguchi, and many others. more photos from the book here.
oh wow. WOW. thank you for sharing.
What a beautiful book! š
i got that book too! it’s such a hefty book that I haven’t had the chance to go through all of it. i’m so surprised that i’ve never heard of this duo.
oh that looks so good!
Hmm…that looks like an interesting book. Like meg, I’ve never heard of them either!
oh yes, love it… so wonderful to get mid-century and cabin together.
