i heard on NPR yesterday that kodak filed for bankruptcy, and it was reported that they are planning to focus on printing services. i was happy to hear that since i’ve been using kodak gallery for a while now to have my digital photos printed. the website is set up very smartly, and i have the option of paying more for higher quality paper, which i like. also, the packaging is great– very simple and professional, and the prints come in paper sleeves. i really appreciate those small details.

  1. Hi Lena, thanks for sharing your photo-printing resource. Your photos look beautiful; I’ve been looking for a good place to have prints made. I’ve been thinking about doing a project similar to yours (putting photos in a plain book). Would you mind sharing the type of book you used, and how you like it? I was worried it would get too full with the added bulk of the photos. I would REALLY appreciate any insight and tips you may have. Thank you! –Erica

  2. I was sad to hear that too. Good to know about kodak gallery. I’ve got some shots of my little one that I want printed.

  3. Love the simple photo book. Any idea what it is? My photos of my 3 year old son are sitting in 2 shoe boxes and my harddrive. Time to get on that! 🙂

  4. i bought two of these black books and now regret not buying more because they’re discontinued… the brand is michael rogers and when i called them directly i was told they have no plans to make them again, and don’t anything similar– unfortunately! but it’s a pretty basic journal, with paper thick enough to hold the photos (the book does get bulkier when all the photos are in, but it looks fine) so i think i can find something similar. i got these at paper presentation on 18th street in manhattan.

  5. lovely album! i think i’ll try this service. i heard that report on npr too, and was concerned about being able to get some of the films i’m accustomed to using, so still hope there’s nothing to worry about there.
