UPDATE: the design co-op at the brookyln flea is cancelled tomorrow because of weather! it will resume next saturday. thanks for all the nice comments about the paper chandelier!

this is why i needed the straw straws (i ended up using real straw!)
i’ll be selling a couple of these paper chandeliers/mobiles at the flea on saturday. i wanted to make something to decorate the empty ceiling of the tent. the idea came from this post on laura normandin’s blog. thank you for the inspiration laura! these are quite labor intensive, but a lot of fun too.
it’s a dreary day here… but cozy!
This is gorgeous, Lena!
Love the colors!
Wow…love this. Not to mention the gray and white tie dye. So modern.

Just wonderful!
This is so lovely, Lena. It reminds me of those Indian wedding garlands that are made by stringing chrysanthemums. Ah just one more reason I need to hop the Bolt bus and make it to the Flea a weekend soon . . .
I actually remember reading that post over at Wrens and thinking how great it would be to actually make one, and you did! and it looks absolutely amazing!

Breathtaking! How bright and inspired. Many cheers!
How FUN! You have inspired me to dig out my tissue paper. Maybe a Christmas theme…..
love it lena! I see how the straw straws are a must…just perfect.
i so want to be at the co-op just to see all that you curated!
AMAZING! how beautiful!
Ah, you made a pajak. 🙂
As I commented previously, these come in abundance to us here in Germany, and a package costs much less than in Japan… I would have loved to help you out (and save you the cutting of endless wheat straws).
Never mind, tho. 🙂
Nice blog!
