it’s rare for me to see a newly constructed apartment building that i like… but oh wow, i love the new flowerbox building in the east village. i saw it about a month ago and was really enamored by it. the flower boxes will be changed twice a year for the seasons, and were created by verdant garden designs (check out their website for more beautiful city-garden photos).
super cool! and great photo!!
oh my!! love. love. love… especially the view from inside. The wood floors are lovely, too. all so natural and peaceful. Thanks for sharing!
This place looks so serene and it’s wonderful they created a mini garden for each resident! Thank you for sharing, I’m definitely gonna have some tea in the garden now. š
dash, no Flash on my computer, so I couldn’t see more pics, but I do love the one you have up here. What a fantastic idea. Now let’s hope everyone waters their windowboxes.
really nice, have you seen these “living walls” in Paris? taken one step further, but it made me think of them… http://www.verticalgardenpatrickblanc.com/
thanks mhari, i hadn’t seen the living walls. wow, really amazing.
heather– haha… i read that there is a built in irrigation system actually!
Hi Lena,
here’s another architect with a similar idea:

such a beautiful building, especially for a city that needs more green. i recently saw one of the buildings in paris, too, it was so incredible!
Thats awesome. Its great to see an apartment that isnt super ugly, like the ones i can see from my work’s office. i’m sure they make some architects cringe
