the embroidery class on saturday was great! as usual, i wish i had taken a few more pictures...

Oooh, looks like so much fun. I wanna take an embroidery class too :)
agreed- looks like the perfect way to spend a saturday. i'm a little curious why no one is using a hoop though... it's much harder for me to stitch without one, but i guess it would take a lot of time to keep taking it off and move it.
good eye! yup, cal teaches embroidery w/o a hoop. she works with clothing mostly, so, just as you said, it would be time consuming to keep moving the hoop. also she taught us to stay on the top side of the fabric rather than bringing the needle completely through to the bottom side, which is more typical with using a hoop.
your classes look so fun! maybe you should do some in san francisco too :)
